Description: The Ventura County Chapter of the American Public Works Association recognized the Springville Interchange Project as its Transportation Project of the Year in 2013. The new diamond interchange provides access to the highway from local streets and a planned housing development. The cornerstone of the interchange is the construction of a 100’ wide, 200’ long box girder bridge over Highway 101 between Las Posas Road and Central Avenue. The project called for 300,000 cubic yards of dirt to be imported, 25,000 tons of asphalt paving, and 750 feet of 66” RCP storm drain, which was bored and jacked under the existing freeway.
