California State University Channel Islands – Entrance Road
Client: California State University
Location: Camarillo
Project Type: Street Improvements, Earthwork, Bridges & Structures
Description: This project created a new entrance road leading into the university from Lewis Road. The four-lane entrance road is elevated on an earthen embankment and provides surface drainage beneath. Work included reinforced concrete boxes, a vehicular bridge and a steel truss-style pedestrian bridge crossing over a creek. Within the 30 acre project, C. A. Rasmussen, Inc. built 4,800 linear feet of new levee, processed around 300,000 cubic yards of dirt, and graded more than 2,000,000 square feet of pads and streets.
