Our History 45 Years of Excellence
After several years as an operator and superintendent with L. M. Wilson Co., Carl Rasmussen went into business for himself in 1964. C. A. Rasmussen, Inc. opened an office on a dusty road in Lancaster, California. After five years on his own, Carl bought out the company he once worked for and soon his boys Dean, Larry and Charlie joined him in the business.
As the Southern California landscape changed and the housing market boomed, C. A. Rasmussen, Inc. grew with the times moving it’s headquarters from Lancaster to Simi Valley, California. The company also expanded into Northern California in 1992 when it acquired Piombo Construction in Santa Rosa. During the 90s, C.A. Rasmussen employees and equipment could be found on jobs stretching from San Diego to northern border of California as well as creating a rail and landfill division.
Dean and Larry Rasmussen retired from the business and Charlie became president and sole owner in 2000. As the 21st century dawned, Charlie decided to downsize the business and bring in his son Adam, as the third generation of Rasmussen men took on the construction business.
After 30 years in Simi Valley, C.A. Rasmussen moved company headquarters to the Valencia.
Charlie, like his father, has earned the respect of his employees and customers as an honest and hard-working man.
Some of the many accomplishments C.A. Rasmussen has gained over it’s more than 45 years in the construction business includes specializing in heavy highway, bridges, mass excavation, residential and infrastructure improvements.
